Redusert transportkapasitet med Sikorsky S92 fra Bristow

Aker BP er i dialog med Bristow om driftsforstyrrelser og tekniske utfordringer som beskrevet i ulike nyhetsartikler 22.mai (blant annet Bergens Tidende).

I følge Bristow er det gjennom systemdeteksjon, vedlikeholdsrutiner og prosedyrer identifisert tekniske avvik utenfor strenge krav til toleranse. Noen av disse skyldes metallspon detektert i oljestrømmen til girboks/input modul. Det er lav terskel for å avbryte flygning i slike tilfeller og Bristow jobber tett med Sikorsky for å kartlegge årsaksforhold, toleranse, og evt. bytte av girboks i hvert enkelt tilfelle.

Sikkerheten til alle som flyr offshore har høyeste prioritet, og Aker BP har tett og løpende dialog med Bristow.

Aker BP sine helikopterflyvninger er per 22. mai ikke berørt.

Reduced Transport Capacity with Sikorsky S92 from Bristow

Aker BP is in dialogue with Bristow regarding operational disruptions and technical issues, as reported in several news articles May 22nd (including Bergens Tidende).

According to Bristow they have through system detection, maintenance routines and procedures, identified technical deviations that are beyond strict tolerance limit. Some of these are related to metal particles detected in the oil flow to the gearbox/input module. In such cases there is a low threshold to suspend flights, and Bristow is working closely with Sikorsky to investigate the root causes, tolerance levels, and whether gearbox replacements are necessary in each case.

The safety of all offshore passengers remains the highest priority, and Aker BP is maintaining close and continuous dialogue with Bristow.

As of May 22nd, Aker BP’s helicopter operations have not been affected
