Aker BP aims to be the exploration and production company of the future by transforming the way we work and operate. We are setting new standards by focusing on safe production and low emissions in the oil and gas industry.

We have big plans- do you want to join us?

A summer internship at Aker BP offers 6-8 weeks of hands-on experience within a relevant field, giving you valuable insight into our industry and what it is like to work with us. You will collaborate with experienced professionals, expand your professional network, and connect with fellow summer interns through both social and professional activities.

You will be part of the department responsible for decommissioning projects within Aker BP. The Decommissioning Team is responsible for planning and executing the safe removal of our offshore installations when they reach the end of their life cycles, as well as their subsequent onshore disposal and recycling. These activities are key to delivering on our circular economy ambitions.

Aker BP has several exciting decommissioning projects underway, ranging from early-phase development through to offshore execution and onshore recycling. Digitalisation and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) are important enablers for how we work, helping us improve collaboration, make better decisions and deliver projects safely and efficiently across the asset lifecycle.Typical work activities include supporting project leaders in their day-to-day responsibilities, conducting site visits, attending and contributing to engineering reviews and risk assessments, and undertaking other relevant tasks based on your interests and current business needs.
