We are looking for a Senior Technical Data Specialist – Reservoir to strengthen our POEM (Production Optimization & Energy Management) capability within Data Management. This is a hybrid role by design: you are formally part of the Data Management organisation, but you will work day-to-day with the POEM team in OPS. That means you will bring competence and best practice directly to where reservoir and production decisions are made.
Together with our Data Domain Specialist, you will be the bridge between two worlds — ensuring that reservoir engineers have trusted, well-structured, and accessible data, while making sure the data products and pipelines you help build meet enterprise standards for quality, governance, and reuse.
Typical work tasks can be:
- Act as the embedded data-management expert for the Operations BU (Reservoir & Petroleum Engineering teams, understanding their workflows and translating their needs into robust data solutions
- Champion data quality, lineage, and governance within the production and reservoir domain, aligning local practice with the wider Data Management framework
- Collaborate closely with reservoir and petroleum engineers, process engineers and production chemists, and other data professionals to turn raw subsurface and production data into reliable, decision-ready information
- Integrate data flows across the Operations and Subsurface domains to support our production and reduce unit costs
Skills and qualifications:
- Master's or bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering and/or Geoscience or similar. Relevant experience can compensate for education. (If relevant/possible)
- Minimum 3 years' experience within reservoir or production disciplines
- The successful applicant will be given the necessary training to succeed
- Production data flow knowledge
- Knowledge of data management data governance
- Fluent/good abilities in English and Norwegian, both verbal and writt
