Aker BP has a large, complex and exciting portfolio of ongoing oil and gas development projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, with a total investment amounting to more than 200 billion NOK. We have set up a Projects Performance & Analysis team responsible for tracking and evaluating the totality of the project portfolio, and we are now looking to further strengthen this team with a Senior Performance Analyst.

In this role, your main responsibility will be to serve as a "cold eye" problem-solver and analytical muscle to provide data driven insights to decision makers. The role will support project management in steering and decision-making processes by preparing analyses and documentation. This will primarily involve the interface with Projects Business Unit Management, Executive Management Team and Board of Directors.

Typical work tasks can be:

  • Pro-actively establish project execution scenarios, understand and analyse identified project execution risks, analyse cross project performance and present these to management to provide insight on project performance and risks
  • Collaborate with relevant functions (e.g. supply chain, planning, cost control and finance) in the collection and analyses of performance data
  • Maintain and update dashboards/visualizations that facilitate effective communication and increased understanding of our performance
  • Work together with Business Unit management team in defining KPIs and relevant reporting for each stage of project execution, and establish baseline, track development and benchmark these

Skills and qualifications:

  • Pro-active, and be able to promote and define scope for own work
  • Team and service orientation
  • Solid communication skills
  • Experience in an analytical field such as consulting, finance, strategy, engineering, data analytics or project management, paired with the ability to extract insights and guide management and decision-makers
  • Experience in collaborating with and supporting management and decision processes
  • Strong Power Point and Excel skills
  • Bachelor's degree or higher within a relevant field or substantial relevant professional experience
  • Knowledge of oil and gas project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle will be considered beneficial
  • Preferably 5 years or more relevant working experience
  • Consulting background and/or experience from the oil and gas industry is beneficial, but not a prerequisite
