Need to have

  • Final year student or recent graduate with an M.Sc. degree in Fluid Dynamics, Chemistry, Process Engineering, Heat Transfer, Physics, Petroleum Engineering, or similar.

  • Stong academic achievements

  • Strong fundamental understanding of fluid dynamics, fluids, physics, and heat transfer.

  • Legally authorized to work in Norway for the full duration of the program, with a willingness to learn Norwegian.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience from summer jobs, internships, or volunteer work.

  • Working knowledge of relevant simulation tools such as OLGA, Ledaflow, PVTsim, Python, Petroleum Experts, or DOF.

  • A self-starter who is eager to learn and takes ownership of deliverables.

  • A collaborative team player with clear and concise communication skills.

As a Flow Assurance Engineer in our 2027 Graduate Program, you will be at the forefront of Aker BP's ambition to become the world's first AI-native E&P company. You will focus on ensuring the safe and efficient flow of hydrocarbons from reservoir to processing, playing a critical role in project development and operational support. Through diverse projects, you will develop the skills to handle complex technical challenges and contribute to our goal of a 3x productivity improvement.

  • Project contributions
    Contribute to flow assurance evaluations for ongoing and future high-profile projects, such as Yggdrasil and Utsira High.

  • Operational support
    Provide essential flow assurance support to operating assets, focusing on optimization and managing production upsets.

  • AI & Data solutions
    Leverage data analysis and AI tools to solve complex technical problems, optimizing flow and accelerating decision-making processes.

  • Cross-functional teamwork
    Work within multidisciplinary teams, serving as the bridge between subsurface, subsea hardware, topside processing, and petroleum engineering disciplines.

  • Innovation & Efficiency
    Actively contribute to our 3x productivity ambition by identifying and implementing innovative solutions for flow optimization and efficiency.

Your journey in Flow Assurance

This isn't a narrow specialization. You'll gain a holistic view by working across the core disciplines that drive our operations, from initial design to long-term production integrity.

  • Multiphase flow management
    Master the principles of multiphase flow and prevent challenges like hydrates, wax, and slugging that can impact production.

  • Systemic perspective
    Oversee the entire production system, understanding interfaces between subsurface, subsea, topside facilities, and petroleum engineering.

  • Advanced simulation
    Utilize state-of-the-art simulation tools for transient multiphase simulations like OLGA, Ledaflow, and PVTsim to model complex flow scenarios.

  • Project & Operations support
    Contribute to flow assurance strategies for new developments and provide crucial support for optimizing existing operating assets.

  • AI & Digital innovation
    Explore and implement AI and digital solutions to accelerate decision-making and enhance the efficiency of flow assurance evaluations.
