Disclosure of voting rights

Reference is made to the extraordinary general meeting in Det norske
Oljeselskap ASA (`the Company`) in Trondheim on 2 February at 5 p.m.The
Chairman of the board in the Company, Kaare Gisvold has as of 13 January
received 6.016.244 power of attorneys to vote on the extraordinary
general meeting. Gisvold has thus exceeded the 10% disclosure threshold
in relation to the number of voting rights in the Company to be
exercised without instruction.

Kaare Gisvold owns 473,635 shares in the Company, representing 0.73% of
all issued shares. Including the power of attorneys, Gisvold has voting
rights for 6.489.879 shares, which represents 10,0% of the votes in the
Company.

The CEO of the Company, Erik Haugane, has as of 13 January 2009 received
159.745 power of attorneys to vote on the extraordinary general meeting.
Erik Haugane owns 1,362,181 shares in the Company, which represents 2.1%
of outstanding shares. Including power of attorneys, Haugane has voting
rights for 1.521.926 shares, which represents 2,34% of the votes in the
Company.
