The position as Geophysicist will have quantitative geophysics as main focus, and the candidate will support in APA and round application work, as well as regional- and prospect-scale seismic data analyses.

Typical work tasks can be:

  • Seismic data conditioning.
  • Tie from seismic to wells.
  • Special analysis of pre-stack and post-stack data.
  • Forward modelling and rock physics.
  • AVO and Seismic Inversion studies.
  • Prospect evaluation and prospect risk assessment.
  • Interest in hands-on programming to test ideas a plus.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Master's degree within Geophysics.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong background in quantitative geophysics, AVO studies, rock properties, depth conversion, seismic processing.
  • The succesful applicant will be given the necessary training to succed
  • Inquisitive and curious with a good understanding of signal processing and rock properties.
  • Knowledge of software packages such as PSPro, RokDoc, HampsonRussell, Petrel, etc. a plus.
  • Experience in the field from an operator company or service company a plus.
  • Fluent/good abilites in English and Norwegian, both verbal and written.
