This position is part of the Seismic Acquisition, Processing & Imaging department. We have the responsibility to provide the best possible seismic data to our business units. This entails proactive collaboration with external companies to drive improvement and innovation to solve the most challenging subsurface problems for our ambitious exploration and production goals, using the newest technology in seismic data acquisition and processing.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to follow seismic data from planning to acquisition and processing, giving a broad field of responsibility

Typical work tasks can be:

  • Planning of seismic data acquisition projects (3D, 4D, OBN, site surveys, VSP), hereunder performing tender evaluations and providing technical specifications
  • Management and hands-on proactive follow up of seismic data acquisition projects (QC/QA of geophysical data, budgeting, liaise with authorities/fisheries, QHSE etc.)
  • Be part of the duty rotation during acquisition
  • Monitor industry development and drive innovation (R&D) of novel seismic acquisition technologies

Skills and qualifications:

  • Education – Master degree in Geology/Geophysics or similar relevant education. Relevant experience can compensate for education
  • At least 5-10 years' experience within one or more of the following activities: Seismic acquisition (towed streamer, OBN, 2D/3D/4D, site survey), seismic processing/imaging and project management
  • Fluent abilities in English and Norwegian, both verbal and written
