This position is part of D&W Engineering Excellence department. We are set up to assist the D&W organization with technical support and assurance through our subject matter experts (SME`s).

The D&W Material specialist / tubular engineer is set up to provide guidance for selection and as necessary qualification of materials used in well construction.

Typical work tasks can be:

  • Failure analysis
  • Input to specifications and evaluation of supplier offering
  • Liaising with suppliers, and manufacturing facilities
  • Review and approval of supplier quality plans, development of inspection and test plans as appropriate.
  • Provide training to drilling, completion and intervention engineers to increase their understanding of material selection criteria.
  • Defining testing and evaluation requirements for materials

Skills and qualifications:

  • Degree within relevant area (Metallurgy, Materials Technology, Welding, Corrosion Evaluations, Surface Preparation and Coatings) is preferred
  • Knowledge of failures caused by stress and corrosion mechanisms
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and specifications used in the North sea
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to deliver quality work within project schedules
