Need to have

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Economics, Data Science, Cybernetics, Computer Science, or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.

  • Basic data processing skills (SQL, Python or equivalent).

  • Strong understanding of data analysis and data structuring.

  • Fluent in both Norwegian and English for professional communication and collaboration with operational teams.

  • Holds a valid EEA work permit.

Nice to have

  • Experience from internships, summer jobs, or academic projects within data, engineering, digital twin, or AI.

  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Python, and SQL for developing dashboards, analyzing data, and building automations.

  • Curiosity about how data is actually used in practice, motivated by solving concrete operational problems.

  • Structured and analytical approach, collaborating actively with domain experts.

  • Eagerness to connect systems, understand complex relationships, and deliver practical value from data.

As a Life Cycle Data Services Engineer in our 2027 Graduate Program, you will be at the forefront of Aker BP's ambition to become the world's first AI-native E&P company. You will focus on structuring, quality assuring, and making engineering data accessible, contributing directly to operational efficiency and our goal of a 3x productivity improvement.

  • Data structuring & QA
    Work with structuring and quality assurance of engineering data (LCI) across systems (SAP, EB, Aize).

  • Digital twin & Visualization
    Contribute to making technical information more accessible and understandable through visualization and digital models (digital twin).

  • Dashboard & Analytics development
    Develop and maintain dashboards and analyses (Power BI) that support decision-making in operations and projects.

  • Data analysis & Automation
    Use SQL/Python to analyze data, identify errors, and build simple automations.

  • AI & Automation implementation
    Implement AI and automation to classify data, detect quality deviations, and extract insights from technical documentation.

  • Cross-functional collaboration
    Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Digital/ADA teams to translate needs into digital solutions.

Your journey in Life Cycle Data Services

This program provides a clear progression, allowing you to develop from supporting data initiatives to leading advanced AI and data projects that directly impact our operations.

  • 0-3 Months: Foundation
    Learn core systems, data usage patterns, and support initial analyses, data quality work, and simple automations. Familiarize yourself with AI tools and team applications.

  • 6-12 Months: Ownership
    Take ownership of analyses and dashboards, contribute to concrete data improvements, and develop basic AI/automation solutions.

  • 12-18 Months: Leadership
    Lead your own data and AI initiatives, acting as a bridge between domain experts and digital functions to identify and implement improvement opportunities.

  • Collaborative alignment
    Engage with Maintenance, Engineering, and Digital teams to align data solutions with operational needs.

  • Digital twin application
    Work with digital twins and Aize visualization to make complex technical information intuitive and actionable.

  • End-to-end data impact
    Influence the entire data value chain, from engineering data structuring to its practical use in operations.
