  • Interest in developing Norwegian language skills over time.

About the job

This graduate program is your gateway to redefining a major industrial company. You will collaborate across disciplines, interpreting seismic and geological data, analyzing well logs, supporting reservoir modeling and work alongside data scientists to develop smart, data-driven subsurface solutions. Successful candidates will specialize in biostratigraphy, eventually joining Aker BP’s Geology and Geophysics Excellence team (G&G). Before that, you'll rotate through the full subsurface value chain, broadening your technical skills and understanding. From day one, you'll contribute to real projects and become a vital part of Aker BP's graduate community, where continuous learning and development are paramount.

  • Holistic subsurface understanding
Gain a holistic understanding of the Geology and Geophysics value chain through diverse subsurface rotations.

  • Biostratigraphic frameworks
Apply biostratigraphic methods to establish and refine stratigraphic frameworks and palaeodepositional models.

  • Multidisciplinary collaboration
Integrate biostratigraphic data into subsurface models, well planning, and exploration with Geology and Geophysics teams.

  • Digital & AI workflows
Develop and apply digital biostratigraphy workflows, including AI/ML data capture and database management.

  • Productivity & Innovation
Identify and implement improvement opportunities to achieve our 3x productivity ambition.

Your journey through Biostratigraphy & Subsurface Geology

This isn't a narrow specialization. You'll gain a holistic view by rotating through core geological disciplines that drive our subsurface understanding, from initial exploration to field development.

  • Stratigraphic frameworks
Apply biostratigraphic methods to establish and refine stratigraphic and sequence stratigraphic frameworks.

  • Palaeodepositional analysis
Support palaeodepositional models and interpretations using biostratigraphic data.

  • Wellsite biostratigraphy
Provide operational biostratigraphy support for well planning and execution.

  • Digital biostratigraphic workflows
Contribute to the development and application of AI-driven digital workflows for data capture and management.

  • Subsurface integration
Integrate biostratigraphic data with other geological and geophysical interpretations.

  • Geology and Geophysics R&D & Innovation
Support discipline development, R&D, and data management strategies for biostratigraphy.
