Need to have

  • Final year student or recent graduate with an M.Sc. degree in a relevant engineering field and a strong fundamental engineering understanding.

As a Drilling and Wells Engineer in our 2027 Graduate Program, you will be at the forefront of Aker BP's ambition to become the world's first AI-native E&P company. Through a series of rotations and a crucial offshore placement, you will develop the skills to handle complex technical problems and contribute to our goal of a 3x productivity improvement.

  • Rotational learning
    Rotate through diverse Drilling & Wells disciplines to gain a holistic understanding of the entire value chain.

  • Offshore experience
    Complete a 6-month mandatory offshore rotation, taking on concrete responsibilities on a live asset.

  • AI & Data solutions
    Apply data analysis and AI tools to solve tangible technical problems in drilling and well operations.

  • Team collaboration
    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and execute well projects from initial concept to completion.

Your journey in Drilling and Wells

This isn't a narrow specialization. You'll gain a holistic view by rotating through the core disciplines that drive our operations, from initial drilling to long-term integrity.

  • Drilling & Completion
    Learn the fundamentals of well construction and bringing assets online.

  • Intervention & Well integrity
    Master the techniques for maintaining and optimizing producing wells.

  • Subsea operations
    Explore the unique challenges of operating advanced subsea systems.

  • Plug & Abandonment
    Understand the process of safely and responsibly plugging and decommissioning of wells.

  • High-Pressure/ High-Temp (HPHT)
    Handle the complexities of operating in extreme reservoir conditions.

  • Drilling & Well excellence
    Work with our assets and operational drilling teams to improve day in and day out. Excellence is to contribute with knowledge and competency throughout Aker BP.
