Aker BP aims to become the leading oil and gas company by exploring and producing natural resources with low emissions and costs. Together with other Aker companies, we play an important role in the energy transition. Our future includes further growth and a desire to improve the industry.

We value diversity, and everyone in Aker BP shall feel involved, included, and respected. We want everyone to thrive at work and develop in their roles, and we are looking for you, who want to be part of our ONETEAM culture and make an impact.

We have big plans – do you want to be part of them?

As a Geologist or Geophysicist graduate, you will be part of an inclusive and enthusiastic subsurface team in Exploration and Reservoir Development with a mission to deliver maximum production and reserves. You'll collaborate across disciplines to interpret seismic and geological data, analyse well logs, support reservoir modelling, and work with data scientists to develop smart, data-driven subsurface solutions.

You'll be encouraged to grow your technical skills and broaden your understanding of the full subsurface value chain. From day one, you'll contribute to real projects and become part of Aker BP's graduate community, where learning, rotation, and development are key.

While we are a large company, we maintain the flexibility and agility of a smaller organisation, which means you will quickly gain autonomy. Our workplace thrives on mutual trust, and collaboration is deeply ingrained in our culture, where colleagues readily offer and seek assistance to achieve our shared goals.

Typical work tasks can be:

  • Execute and integrate geological and geophysical work activities in cross-disciplinary subsurface teams on various projects across exploration, development and production – including well planning & execution

  • Provide and maintain inputs to asset reservoir models

  • Plan and execute studies within sedimentology, reservoir quality and structural geology

  • Seismic interpretation, prospect definition and evaluation, volume and risk assessment

  • Seismic AVO, quantitative seismic reservoir characterisation and monitoring, and hands-on conditioning/processing of seismic data

Qualifications:

  • You have recently graduated or will graduate in 2026 with an MSc in geology, geophysics, physics, mathematics, data science or similar

  • You have a maximum of two years of relevant professional experience

  • English and/or Norwegian language working proficiency

We think you will thrive in Aker BP if this resonates with you:

  • You are curious and have an interest in how data can be made available, interpreted, visualised, and used as a basis for various recommendations and decisions.

  • You either already find it easy to ask for and receive help from others, or you are deeply interested in acquiring this skill. You tend to trust others to give you the help you need, and you also like to help others whenever you can
