This position is part of Estimating and Benchmarking department. We have the responsibility for development and management of all estimating deliveries to the Project, provide cost risk modelling and benchmarking support. The estimator shall ensure the proper application of all company estimating function processes and procedures, along with compliance checks of both Internal, Contractor and/or Alliance Partner estimating deliverables as appropriate.

The estimator shall be part of a multidiscipline team and is expected to actively seek advice and perspectives from colleagues and leaders to develop a robust integrated estimate. He/she is expected to perform commercial and technical reviews and make decisions and recommendations.

Typical work tasks can be:

  • Develop the project time, cost and weight/quantity estimate, basis of estimate, benchmarking and estimate report for EXPEX, CAPEX, DRILEX, OPEX and ABEX costs in line with the company's current policies that properly reflects the project scope, interfaces and execution methodology of the project.
  • Provide analysis and review of estimate supplied by contractor companies, internal corporate business units and/or alliance partners as appropriate
  • Perform estimate close-out activities to ensure that the estimates are traceable and are anchored with the Norwegian/International experience database & industry benchmarks as well as Company Corporate Memory Database.
  • Assist with maintenance, development and ensure the quality of the estimation tools and methods in line with the Aker BP digital strategy. The right candidate will take an active part in further development of Ecosys Estimating tool.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in the field Engineering / Industrial Economics or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 2yrs experience in similar project estimation position within the oil and gas industry. Students which fill requirements and has relevant experience are also urged to apply
  • Experience of working on tender evaluations, preparation of bid check estimates and review of quantities in bids is desirable
  • The successful applicant will be given the necessary training to succeed.
  • Fluent/good abilities in English and Norwegian, both verbal and written
