We are now offering exciting opportunities for a Senior Reservoir Geologist to join one of our field development projects or producing assets in Exploration and Reservoir Development.

For the position, it is key to have strong communication skills and the ability to contextualize Reservoir Geology in multi-disciplinary teams consisting of geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers and petroleum engineers as well as towards other functions. The candidate should actively seek advice and perspectives from colleagues and leaders within own section, as well as contribute to Aker BP's continuous improvement agenda. All work is expected to be planned and executed safely and efficiently.

You will be part of an inclusive and enthusiastic department of Exploration and Reservoir Development, which aims to maximise production and reserves.

Typical work tasks can be:

  • Integrating all available subsurface data to optimize the understanding of developing and producing assets.
  • Contribute and take responsibility for digital initiatives about geology and modelling.
  • Build and update static reservoir models and evaluate volume uncertainty and risks, in close collaboration with other disciplines and functions.
  • Well planning and follow-up well operations and data acquisition and recommend how to implement results into subsurface models.
  • Identify remaining reservoir opportunities that could be economically justified to maximize production and value creation.
  • Be an active contributor to the Geology network.
  • Ensure that all work, tasks and projects are carried out to achieve the overall objectives. These include HSSE, technical integrity, compliance and cost.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Master's degree in the field of Geology, Geoscience or similar/relevant education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience from field development projects and/or producing assets.
  • Strong reservoir modelling skills and proven track record in building static reservoir models including data analysis and statistical evaluations
  • Knowledge of uncertainty assessment and ensemble modelling workflow
  • Experience in well planning and execution.
  • Understand how data can be available and used across all subsurface disciplines for various recommendations and decisions.
  • Able to organize, collaborate and motivate others to complete tasks to reach shared goals.
  • Excellent communication skills
