Senior Wellhead Engineer – Surface

The position holder will demonstrate strong commitment to the HSSE and quality standards within Aker BP when carrying out the responsibilities of assurance and technical support for safe, efficient and reliable operations within the framework of Business Management System, regulations and standards. The position holder supports Aker BP common strategies and will take an active role in our digitalization / improvement agenda, finding smarter and better ways of working.

The Objective of the role:

  • The position will cover all aspects of tree delivery, installation, and life of field.
  • From the company technical requirements define a project statement of requirements, verify supplier equipment meets these requirements. Manage the supplier to ensure timely delivery to the asset and drilling team, including interfaces to instrumentation and platform. Manage the installation and support commissioning of equipment. Provide a link to well integrity and life of field.
  • During manufacture there will be a need to conduct verification that the supplier has correctly implanted QCP and ITP to assure processes control for product realisation. Supplier activity will include but not be limited to quality control inspections of products and services, inspection of mobilized and demobilized equipment and all aspects of life cycle information.

Typical tasks will include:

  • Develop Statement of Requirements from Technical Requirements and project statement of requirements.
  • Review manufacturer capability to meet the defined requirements.
  • Participate in tender review process, if required. Co-ordinate issue of purchase orders.
  • Technical support during detailed engineering and risk register development.
  • Technical interface between platform, instrumentation, and supplier.
  • Co-ordinate and contribute to conductor, wellhead, riser strength, stability, and fatigue analysis.
  • If required, follow up qualification of equipment to defined needs and appropriate industry standards.
  • Project manage deliveries. Arrange purchase of long lead non oem equipment and company free issue equipment.
  • General support to drilling and completion engineers.
  • Arrange a plan for all running tools and operational spares.
  • Co-ordinate and participate SIT and eFAT activity.
  • Write and contribute to rig action plans.
  • Assist in well handover.
  • Ensure all life of field documentation is collated and loaded into the appropriate document management system.
  • Support with LCI activities for well handover.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum B.Sc. in a relevant engineering degree or similar in scientific subjects, other relevant experience may compensate for relevant formal education.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience
  • Preferred experience with Surface Wellhead tools and equipment
  • Good understanding of the LEAN philosophy
  • Good understanding on how digitalization will affect how we work.
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English.
