Objective of the role:

  • Perform technical engineering work in all phases of the well projects in order to ascertain safe and efficient operations. Complement the current D&W subsea team with digitalization skills and CAD engineering capacity.
  • The position holder supports Aker BP common strategies and will take an active role in our digitalization and improvement agenda, finding smarter and better ways of working.

Typical tasks will include:

  • Prepare subsea operation procedures for the well, follow-up the operation, analyse the performed work and contribute to the experience transfer in the well project.
  • Contribute to the drilling and completion technical work.
  • Perform subsea-engineering services in the well project, onshore and offshore, in order to accomplish the established objectives and plans.
  • Participate offshore in the preparation and execution of the subsea operations.
  • Ensure continuous improvement during planning and operation phase of the subsea operations.
  • Keep overview of all external cost related to the planning and execution of the subsea operations.
  • Make sure that risk evaluation is used in relation to the conceptual design decisions.
  • Seek lessons from suppliers, other operators and within Aker BP.
  • Establishing and maintaining local best practice documents.
  • Ensure documentation and log of all decisions of importance including change processes
  • Ensure a good communication with all groups in the project.
  • Where necessary initiate and contribute to improvements of the relevant mandatory and guiding documents.
  • Identify and handle dispensations and non-conformances where necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum B.Sc. engineering degree or similar in scientific subjects.
  • Minimum 7 years in the Drilling & Wells Subsea engineering or wellsite leadership position.
  • Good Understanding of LEAN philosophy.
  • Good understanding on how digitalization will affect how we work.
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English.
